Q.    Why did you run against Doug Johnson, the fourth most powerful politician in the state of Minnesota?

A.    Why shouldn't I have? Every politician needs to be challenged and no one was going to challenge Doug till I stepped up to the plate. Besides, it was a good way of signaling my intention to run in 2002. 2000 was just for practice.
