Housing in the Twin Ports

Like the nation as a whole Duluth is suffering from a housing shortage and rental rates are driving many residents out of their traditional neighborhoods.

In my neighborhood around UMD more single family houses are becoming rental units for college students who find themselves forced to sub let illegally in order to reside in Duluth. 

This is changing the character of all the neighborhoods abutting UMD while fostering tensions between students and Duluth residents.

This phenomenon is not restricted to Duluth and legislative allies must be found in other college districts to help craft legislation to mitigate these ills.
